Spring Update 2010:
The snow has melted and the hill is drying out, so that means the summer work at Eaton Mountain is beginning. We will be smoothing out and seeding the snowtube slope and completing install of the new tube lift, tube slope lights and snowmaking. Work on the chairlift is also underway. The lift needs to pass a number of inspections this summer including a dynamic load test (a highly involved series of tests that has not been done in several years). Provided things go well, we are planning to run the chairlift for natural snow-daytime skiing on weekends and holidays this winter. Other summer projects will include reconfiguration of the snackbar kitchen, tree planting, and general maintenance & grounds clean up.
On another note, we are actively seeking mortgage refinancing to strengthen our long term financial position: approx. $200K at 5% APR, 20 year term and amortization. Secured by 90 acres of property encompassing most of ski area, buildings, and lifts.
